ST-AMBROISE. The Great Pumpkin Ale

One of the top three pumpkin ales on our list.  To put simply, it's really good and if you're into pumpkin ales you have to try this one out.  Available only for a limited time so hurry and grab some before this seasonal beer is gone.

Mill St. - Cobblestone Stout

One of my all-time favorite movies is "Rudy". For those that haven't seen it, its about a pint sized wannabe football player that somehow makes the famous Notre Dame football team, only to never actually play. A model of hustle and heart, Rudy eventually wins the respect of everyone from his teammates to his hard nosed coach, Ara.

As Fortune, the friendly groundsman Rudy befriends says, "You're 5 foot nothin', 100 and nothin', and you have barely a speck of athletic ability. And you hung in there with the best college football players in the land for 2 years. And you're gonna walk outta here with a degree from the University of Notre Dame. In this life, you don't have to prove nothin' to nobody but yourself. And after what you've gone through, if you haven't done that by now, it ain't gonna never happen."

Yet, in his final season, behind his inspired team's push for him to finally play in a game, the coach relents and puts Rudy in. The entire stadium cheers and gets whipped into a frenzy as Rudy makes a play, being championed by his teammates and carried out on their shoulders.

When you first crack open a can of Mill St. Cobblestone Stout (now at your local LCBO!) and watch the creamy foam cascade through your glass, you'll feel the same way we all felt the first time we saw Rudy: inspired and satisfied.

CASK DAYS!

Cask after cask lined up.   By the time we arrived they were down to almost half of the original listed, but still more beers than any one man dare try. Thankfully, there were two of us.

Really nice oatmeal stout from BC.

This pumpkin ale was awesome, made it to the top three of our favorites.

This Quebec beer was so good, we haven't tasted anything like it.  Its one you definitely have to try for your self!

Dieu Du Ciel! Aphrodisiaque/aphrodite

One of the greatest stouts to ever touch my mouth.  Its a strong stout brewed with cocoa and vanilla.  You will rarely see this in the LCBO, but if your willing to make the drive this beer is readily available in Quebec.  Another option is a little place in Toronto that serves good food and good beer one of which happens to be the Aphrodisiaque check them out http://wvrst.com/

BROUHAHA. Choco Framboise (Montreal)

There is such thing as a raspberry mint stout!  Its not exactly what we expected, but nonetheless it was pretty good.

St-Ambroise Oatmeal Stout

I'm told that in Hawaii if you go at a specific time of year you can actually watch sea turtle eggs hatch on the beach and gloriously make their way to the ocean where they'll start their new life and eventually return to that same beach and lay their own eggs. While trying this oatmeal stout by St-Ambroise, I reflected on the sea turtles and thought to myself, "Dude, sea turtles rule." Much like this strong, dark stout.

Mill St. Pumpkin Ale

Easily one of the best pumpkin ales we've ever had. Tastes like drinking a slice of pumpkin pie which is awesome.

And away we go...

We finally sat down and created the blog. Sit down and read our musings on beer we've tried, or don't, whatever. It's a free country.
